Doesn't Disney pay like six figures/low seven figures to actors who aren't huge names? I don't understand how anyone would think Mandy Moore or Kristen Bell received eff you money for voice over work. Heck, Kristen Bell wasn't even the lead in Frozen.

I suppose with Frozen 2 she gets more money. Like, way more.

& Mandy Moore and the Tangled show probably gets her a lot of money too.

I thought more of Anika Noni Rose and Kelly MacDonald whose princesses do not have nearly attention or lucrative properties as Rapunzel and Anna/Elsa.

Kristen Bell and Mandy Moore are fairly well known, aren't they?

That said, I imagine that if Kristen Bell has eff you money, it's probably for all the ads she does. Enterprise Rent-A-Car indirectly funding Veronica Mars.

There is also This Is Us and The Good Place.

I didn't know about This Is Us but The Good Place is an NBC sitcom so I sort of assumed, you know, similar to Frozen. Obviously she's a very successful working actress and not going to be in the poorhouse anytime soon but the question is eff-you money, not just rich.

According to this, Kirsten Bell has "When in Rome" eff you money:

They’re both very popular shows, so I can see how they would open doors for new opportunities.

I mean, yeah. I don't know how much money a Disney princess voice actress makes, even with residuals, even if they're well-known, but I cannot imagine it means they never have to work again.

Maybe OP means that they don't have to work the same way that anyone who's on Star Trek can basically make a living off cons, signatures, appearance fees, etc?

I actually assume they have contract stipulations to get a certain percent of the box office/home video/imaging rights profits. (Some actors take a pay cut to bet on getting a much bigger profit after release.)

With KBell if she does't have that stipulation in her contract for Frozen 2 she definitely has the wrong agent.

IIRC there's a lot of creative accounting done in Hollywood that makes that stuff less lucrative than it oughta be.

DA - and if anyone can do a contract to make sure they get the lion’s share of the profits, it’s Disney.

They don't pay a huge amount upfront, but the residuals are huge and long-lasting. This is why Giselle from "Enchanted" didn't become an official Disney Princess: the money they would have had to pay Amy Adams to use her likeness as well as her voice was too much even for Disney.

(Anonymous) 2019-04-15 09:05 am (UTC)(link)
The only issue was using Amy Adams' likeness. I don't think using someone's voice is generally ever an issue -- if an actor wants a lot of money to use their voice, you hire another, less-known actor who does a credible impression and you're fine. With Giselle, it was because the original character was obviously based on her likeness. They'd either have to redesign her to the point of being unrecognizable or pay Amy Adams a lot of money.

Maybe not independently set from just Frozen, but she’ll always have a job. Page o’Hara, Jodi Benson, and Lea Salonga all still regularly make Disney-related appearances (Disney TV shows, park voice overs, cruise line shows, anniversary spots, cross over movies like Wreck it Ralph...) not to mention talking merch like dolls, books, play sets. Frozen was big enough to keep Kbell doing little things until she’s 60.
