I actually really liked both. Wonder Woman wasn't as amazing for me as everyone made out but it was still the best DCEU (or whatever we're calling it these days) offering I'd seen and is probably still the best for me after Shazam!

I liked Captain Marvel a little more but full disclosure it's because there wasn't really a love story (though the love story in WW isn't intrusive or terrible) in the traditional sense, as in if there is any love story it's the love/support for her friend and her friend's daughter. I found that really refreshing.

Honestly I feel like it's mostly just and overall nice feeling people have that there are two films with a female lead that are being generally well received rather than seeing them being dumped on and used as an argument as to why superheroine films don't work. Despite the fact there's countless examples of shitty male-led superhero flicks and yet they still get made without much of a dent to their reputation.
