Re: Superheroes

Yay, but I'm choosey, so not a universal yay. I find I'm not so much fatigued with superheroes as rather the abundance of choice means I can afford to be picky. I used to see pretty much every superhero movie that came out. X-Men? Only vaguely aware that's a thing, but let's go see it! Iron Man? Never heard of him but looks like fun! Now, I don't have to settle for whatever I can get, I can go to superhero movies that specifically tickle my interest.

I like the MCU generally, but I have not seen all the movies, did not seen all the ones I've seen in proper order, and did not see all the ones that some of the others build off of first (e.g. I did not see Civil War or Black Panther before Endgame and still haven't gotten around to seeing BP) and this has not detracted from my enjoyment at all. I either get what I need to know from fandom osmosis or I can just figure things out from context. I'm a DC girl at heart, but had no interest in Man of Steel or BvS because they just didn't look intriguing to me, despite my love of Batman (although I did watch them on cable later). It's not enough for a movie to have a superhero, it's got to spark my interest on some level beyond that.
