Hard agree. They not only added nothing, they were dumb and cartoonish and felt out of touch with the rest of the film. If they had at least been rendered in an animation style that matched the others it wouldn't have been that offensive, but they weren't worth a few gags.

You mean, the animation style that made extensive use of post-processing to give Miles and Peter a 21st century print comic look, including backstory using print-comic frames, CYMK halftone visualization, Kirby Dots, and even the Spidey Sense indicators?

Right??? The variety of animation styles were a feature, not a bug.

?? Just because it's comic book print style doesn't mean all comic book styles look alike. They looked extremely jarring because the art styles clashed.
