I liked them, it gave a sense of how much of the multiverse the collider was affecting if it was pulling people from dimensions that were so fundamentally different. And I feel it helped with the message that it was okay to be yourself, y'know? They were all different and some of them were pretty weird, but they were all ultimately, 'Spiderman', and that it was okay for Miles to be his own kind of Spiderman - a message meant not only in-universe for Miles himself but also for fans of the comics. Anyhow its not like they were shoved front and center, they were very clearly the comic relief B-team.
