The Easter Bunny us Australian in that? Seems like an odd choice since aren't rabbits invasive in Australia?

So far it's mostly French billionaires and corporations promising big bucks for Notre Dame, which seems very appropriate to me. It's not like Brazilians are being expected to donate to fix a cathedral to benefit the French.

I bet most if those people didn't give a shit about Palmyra. They don't have a leg to stand on.

Very invasive. Cute little bastards.

I had a UTI that went away on it's own. It wasn't a really bad one, though, and I drank a ton of water. I couldn't get to a doctor due to being in an out-of-the-way place with no transportation. A few years later, I had another, much worse one and did get to a doctor. He didn't contradict me about the other one going away by itself. He just seemed really surprised that thus was only my second UTI ever, but I suppose for an urgent care doc, life is a constant parade of UTIs and he assumed they happen all the time.

I'm very sad but I can't just tell people that because it makes me bad company. It's not depression. I can't fix it with pills or therapy. There's just a lot of things that other people take for granted that I haven't had and likely won't ever have and I try to be okay with my life but I wish I had people who loved me.

"this is the Assassin's Creed where they did a huge project modeling Notre Dame to get it accurate"

Huh, isn't Odyssey set in ancient Greece? (I mean, I know Notre Dame was old, but I didn't think it was that old!)

Oh, actually it's 2014 Assassin's Creed: Unity, which is set in Paris during the French Revolution:

Same. I just drank a ton of water and cranberry juice and by the time I actually got in to see my doctor, it had gone away.

(hugs) Sorry, anon. I kind of get it. I have a few left, but barring horrible accidents or disease, I’m gonna outlive my last couple relatives by decades, and I haven’t made any friends since grade school, when sharing lunch and both liking dinosaurs and Goosebumps books was all it took. Never had an S.O. or kissed or been on a date. Unless something changes, I’m gonna be alone with my pets a long time.

Bb, all you need is something battery-powered.

They share a cause/mission/career, and over time they form an incredibly deep and loyal bond that secretly scares them both in its intensity. They spend a very long time being in love with each other without knowing their feelings are reciprocated. And each one brings something to the table that the other sorely lacks.

Borderline unhealthily intense love/obsession.

Oh god, me too. This is such a common staple of fanfic that you'd think everyone was into it. But people only ever seem to mention it when they're criticizing it.

One one hand, I feel old for longing for the days of early 2000's internet. On the other, I genuinely feel those days were absolutely better than the digital shitscape that is 2019 and that I'm not simply looking at the past through rose tinted glasses... thus I feel justified in my longing.

ayrt

I really hope not too, but if it is, at least it's something that can be well-controlled.

Especially given the genetics factor, it does seem like a possibility. I think some pharmacy clinics may offer this type of screening. Or you could get a blood glucose meter and testing strips and do several tests a day (one in the morning before eating, one before a meal, and one after) and do this for a few days, keeping track of the numbers and what you eat. If the numbers point to diabetes or prediabetes, then you can go in to your doctor with data.

There aren't a lot of Aussie cartoons unfortunately, we have more British and American ones shown on tv. The only one I can think of off the top of my head is 'Li'l Elvis and the Truckstoppers'. I'm sure there are more, but they'd probably be for younger children.

'Voltron: Legendary Defender' has a character voiced by a New Zealander (though from memory he sounds more Australian), the advisor Coran.

(Anonymous) 2019-04-18 08:57 am (UTC)(link)
if you can stretch that to include New Zealand accents you've got a whole army hundreds of thousands of clones in the Clone Wars/Attack of the Clones to crush on lmao

(Anonymous) 2019-04-18 11:28 am (UTC)(link)
Coran doesn't sound Australian to me at all. NZ all the way.

(Anonymous) 2019-04-18 11:53 am (UTC)(link)
Really? Huh, I mostly see 'wimmin' on the alt-right/incel sides of things nowadays. Womyn on the other hand...

(Anonymous) 2019-04-18 11:56 am (UTC)(link)
You might wanna take a gander at Masterchef Australia :D

Lol like only men could actually want that/gay men wouldn't.

Look, I had that "well now they donate all that money when they could have donated it before to other causes" thought as well. But how do we know they don't actually already do that? I don't have their lists of charities they back and neither does anyone else, so who's to insinuate they don't already support charities? Chances are that they do.
I think governments other than the French shouldn't give money though. That should be used for other things.

It's been a while since I saw it, so I'm obviously remembering wrong then!

(Anonymous) 2019-04-18 12:47 pm (UTC)(link)
I really like the episode. It's not mocking disability - everyone is supportive to him - it's about the awkwardness of him faking it to avoid embarrassment only to end up having to carry it through with tons more embarrassing situations. I think of it every time I'm out in a family change room with my nephew/multipurpose toilet and see a disabled pullcord :)

I saw one on Tumblr that said donating to rebuild Notre Dame instead of giving it to the poor was spitting in God's face...
