I'm saying the connotations of bitch in Japanese is not nearly as offensive as it is in English since it's a loanword and doesn't have the cultural baggage. Kinda like how bara is offensive is Japanese but essentially means buff dude in English anime circles. (1/2 because chrome on android sucks)

And my second point isn't that no one shouldn't judge other's taste in anime, only that getting uppity about it is incredibly lame. Because let's be real, that's the target demographic for late anime is otaku and anyone who cares about what anime specifically someone else is into is also one.

Idk what you mean by "uppity" but is what you're saying that all Otaku like things like this (or things that are equally bad) so no one can really say shit about it?

(Anonymous) 2019-04-25 05:09 am (UTC)(link)
the irony of someone defending the use of a character named bitch because of language differences and then, in english, using a racist word like uppity

(Anonymous) 2019-04-25 01:07 am (UTC)(link)
OK, so are they calling it her in, like, a friendly way, or something? And what about the "whore" part - is that also a different connotation?

(Anonymous) 2019-04-25 01:31 am (UTC)(link)
No. It's that she gets her name stripped from her because a royal made a false rape accusation (which what the fuck author) and so when her crimes were found out she was stripped of title, name and rank and was made a slave and renamed Bitch, with Whore and Slut as other possible things to call her.

(Anonymous) 2019-04-25 01:29 am (UTC)(link)
Her alternate names are literally Whore and Slut, quit defending this. You're saying this author used these words not knowing what they meant.

(Anonymous) 2019-04-25 03:46 am (UTC)(link)
False rape plot is still a thing the author chose to go with though. Like, wow, are you TRYING to appeal to incels or what?

You'll pry judgmental tendencies from my cold, dead brain.

Stop making excuses for this shit, you inbred weeb.
