It was depicted in canon content outside of the game, as opposed to the creators twitter

Well, Dumbledore being gay with Grindelwald (sp?) seemed pretty implied in the new movie. I grant it wasn't quite explicit but the intention was pretty obvious.

Yeah but the difference between “implied” and “depicted in canon explicitly” is literally what people are talking about here - HP does one, Overwatch does the other

Also, "implied" is a word that can mean a lot of different things & there's a lot of detail you would have to drill down into and and a lot of interpreting and closely reading the text. I mean, if you cared enough to do so.
