121 - Okay, step one to not being so fucking ashamed of yourself? Delete 'weeaboo' from your vocabulary. Seriously. Start with that. And then accept that you know what? There are really not a lot of people who walk around with cat ears on. They are the few and the really crazy. Most anime fans are actually pretty bloody normal people.
141 - Wow, judgmental there, ain'tcha?
164 - I'm overweight, and I cosplay, and I've gotten nothing but compliments about it. Basically, it's just like regular dressing -- you have to find the cosplays that suit you. If you're overweight, don't cosplay characters that wear skimpy clothing. Shop around a little for characters who stay more covered, or better yet wear loose, flowing clothing, and you'll find cosplays that you can pull off just fine. Best is cosplaying male characters -- they tend to be less fanservice-y and wear more clothes. (Except for Kamina. He's special)

I'm also an overweight cosplayer. I cosplayed during AWA and I had so much fucking fun. The group that I traveled with got so many compliments and stopped ass tons of times for pictures. And it was the time of my life. I loved the experience.
