141. Oh, yes, we definitely like it because we don't feel accepted by mainstream American culture. We definitely don't like it because it's entertaining, enjoyable, or fun to be interested in at all. Oh, and the anime fans that aren't American definitely feel like they aren't accepted by mainstream American culture too. None of us like anything American or mainstream at allll. Because there definitely isn't anime merchandise at Wal-Mart or anything.

Seriously, there are animes out there of every genre and subject matter just like with live action media. There's more drawing and storytelling styles than you could imagine. I'm sure even you could find one that you like.

Haha thank you for that. Anyone that doesn't consider anime mainstream is lost in a sea of denial. I believe it depends on the particular anime, and if the OP is going to use Naruto of all things they shouldn't play the 'elitist' card

Heh. You're welcome! XD I know, right? 10 years ago, maybe you could argue it, but now? Seriously? The manga section in most booktores and the anime DVD section in most electronic stores is a full aisle long. Of course, there's plenty of anime in general that are almost unknown throughout the world, and anime fandoms aren't as generally popular as a lot of American entertainment like Star Wars or something. But if the obscurity of medium is what anime fans were looking for, they wouldn't be... well... anime fans!
