Oh bullshit. Some movies are absolutely better going in not knowing what'll happen. The Sixth Sense is fine knowing the twist in advance, but it's on another level when you don't.

What if you don't know the twist, but guess it about a third of the way through because Shyamalan isn't really that subtle if you've ever read ghost stories before?

Sixth Sense is always the go-to movie for these kind of discussions. It's testament to the film's plot building that it's final twist has remained in popular consciousnesses for 20 years.

Also, may the world never forget that the kid grew up to be motherfuckin' Sora from Kingdom Hearts.

It is funny because I think it is not a good movie precisely because the only thing of note about it is that surprise ending. And for me, if that is all a movie has, it just isn't a good movie. For me a good movie means one I want to watch more than once and a movie I'll enjoy every time I see it.
