If this secret is about going into an article or post about whatever thing I'm trying to avoid spoilers for, sure, that's on me.

Otherwise? Bullshit.

I was reading an article about that new folding smartphone and some asshole posted an Endgame spoiler in the comments. How the fuck is that my fault?

This, honestly. My dad looked up how many of a certain movie there was in the MCU and got a massive spoiler in the FIRST google image search. The article had the spoiler in the title for fuck sakes.

He is not a fandom kind of guy, he just wanted to see how many of the DVDs he should go out and buy before seeing Endgame next weekend lmao. Stuff like that is such unfair bullshit tbh. I agree that dabbling around on Twitter/Tumblr (still a thing?)/Reddit/etc. is a risky move and you should steer clear from those places if you are sensitive to spoilers. But if you are not digging through fandom-heavy areas on the internet, you should not be getting spoiled at all imo, and if you are because of some dick off, despite your best efforts to avoid spoilers, then how is that your fault?

Spoiler: it's not.
