If you're an adult and exclusively into stuff aimed at kids or teens, I assume you're emotionally stunted in some respect.

If you are an adult and have enough investment in your judgements of people to make these kinda posts about them, I've already decided you're emotionally stunted and/or crave attention.

"or crave attention"
That's pretty much the point of posting controversial opinions or sharing secrets, no? Otherwise people would just keep it to themselves.

And?

No, really. And?

I see this opinion all the time but what does your judgement do for those people that are supposedly emotionally stunted? It certainly doesn't help them in any meaningful way. If anything, it risks making them even less likely to want to engage with society and develop more mature social skills.

I'm not sharing my judgement with them though? The thread asked for controversial opinions and I gave one. I wouldn't tell this directly to someone I thought was emotionally stunted.

The fact people are getting bristly over this makes me feel like I struck a nerve.

Yeah, I... agree with this one, because my own experiences have borne this out. Being into some stuff aimed at kids/teens among other things is fine, I know loads of people who like Disney movies and Steven Universe and things like that. But every single person I've known who has only been into kids' stuff has been incredibly emotionally immature and... yeah, stunted.
