I think it's reasonable to check with people first if they have seen something or not but I do agree if you go into a discussion thread and don't expect to see spoilers then, well...what did you expect?

But the Internet being the way it is doesn't make life easier sometimes. You get people not tagging their shit properly and that's before I get started on how you can be reading an article on something completely not related like Contemporary Basket Weaving and some dickhead in the comments (usually via a Facebook comment thread link) will post HEY JUST SO YOU KNOW Y DIES IN Z!

The thing I absolutely hate though is the demands for iron clad spoiler tagging when something has been out more than a few weeks. You can't expect people to talk in code forever.
