Because I have a random question

Internal Monologue?

(Anonymous) 2019-04-29 11:52 pm (UTC)(link)
When you're thinking, in your head, are your thoughts generally verbal, in the form of words and/or sentences?

Yep. Is that unusual? I've never really thought about it before.

Yes because im a words person not a images person.

It's a mix of words and images, but not very strong. I sometimes worry I might be dumb but I did decently schoolwise.

Yes. I hold whole conversations. Sometimes group convos. And sometimes it's just fun to narrate as in a book or documentary.

Not really. It depends on what I'm thinking, though. If I'm thinking about a conversation I had with someone, or a conversation I could have with someone, then my thoughts are pretty verbal.

But otherwise, my thoughts are not that nailed down. And the more emotional a thought is, the less verbal it tends to be. I don't think things like, "God, that's so beautiful," or "oh god, I'm scared," or "aargh I'm such a fucking weirdo idiot," in words. They're sub-verbal.

Just about all my own monlogue, but since I write, sometimes I can imagine how/what a character would say or do in a situation. Not quite the 'muse' situation many people get, but after years of being judgy about that, I think I finally get it. It's active imagination, basically.

I also think in ideas, in as much as because I cosplay I'm constantly visualizing how pieces of things fit together, imagining the steps as I'd go about them, so later I either write them down or just have anxiety attacks in my sleep over getting it done before I forget... :D;; I've seriously dreamed entire assemblies of things I wanted to make.
