(Anonymous) 2008-09-24 12:06 am (UTC)(link)I wikipedia-ed the plot so I could vaguely convince people I'd seen it and get out of being dragged there by well-meaning but highly irritating friends who felt the need to shove this movie down my throat because it was ZOMGGENIUS. Believe it or not, that's pretty much it. And so long as no one ever finds out I haven't actually seen it, I wont have to pay money to sit through yet another misogynistic, death, violence and gore fest. I'm not saying I wont eventually d-load a DVD rip out of curiosity about the cultural phenomenon it's turned into, but I'm not paying money to see something that has no actual entertainment value for me other than that.

Nor is Rachel's death in any way gratuitous. You...actually don't even see her die. Or her body.
Not saying that you're in any way required to want to see the movie, just that...I'm not entirely clear where you got those impressions from. o_O
