Captain America: The Winter Soldier. Mostly set in New York. Cap is in uniform and so are a whole bunch of SHIELD guys. And that program on the Helicarriers to find HYDRA enemies and threats was created. Is available on Amazon Prime.

Nomming this because its brainless fun and most people haven't even heard of it.

Logan Lucky

AKA "Ocean's 7/11" AKA "Magic Mike and Kylo Ren hire James Bond's redneck twin to steal millions of bucks from Bucky & the NASCAR Bunch"

starring Channing Tatum and Adam Driver as redneck brothers, and Daniel Craig as redneck Bond, also Sebastian Stan in there somewhere randomly

Trailer: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aPzvKH8AVf0
Wiki: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Logan_Lucky

Scenes: Something Is Created. (a heist)
Characters: In Uniform. (blue-collar work-related, various)
Props: A Ring, A Glove, Or A Watch. (false arm - not a spoiler)

It is pretty good but you might need subtitles because of the accents (Irish woman here). I guess that means Driver did a good job because I've usually no issue with his accent.

I haven't seen it, but I remember the trailer and love the "and introducing Daniel Craig..." bit.

I am nominating Schindler's List on Netflix. It has a Ring, people in uniform, takes place in a city, AND something is created.

Glad to see this is back! Thank you! <3

Can I nominate Dark City? City setting, characters in uniform and a lot of weird stuff gets created. Some of it looks a little dated now but it's one of my favourite underrated sci-fi films. Trailer here - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gt9HkO-cGGo

EDIT - In case anyone watches this, I'd recommend the director's cut if available. The original cut has a voicover during the opening that explains waaay too much of the plot ahead of time, which was removed for the director's cut when Alex Proyas realised how spoilery it was.

Oopsie, I've got it showing on Prime here - https://www.amazon.co.uk/Dark-City-Rufus-Sewell/dp/B00HDCZS82

Hope I've got the right end of the stick, I don't stream a lot so I'm a bit clueless, sorry :(

Dang. I was thinking Before the Fall, about a kid who gets into a Hitler Youth school based on his boxing (uniforms, (boxing) gloves), but I don’t think it’s streaming anywhere.

What about Inception?
It's in the city, dreams are designed and created, title is one word, and there are totems!

Hm, it is streaming on HBO Go. Let me ask tomorrow how people feel about HBO Go as a choice. It isn't used as much as the other ones. Though, Game of Thrones is on right now, so more people than ever have it.

DOCUMENTARY REC: The Price of Everything
AVAILABLE ON: Hulu or The High Seas, whichever.

OFFICIAL SUMMARY:
Exploring the labyrinth of the contemporary art world, The Price of Everything examines the role of art and artistic passion in today’s money-driven, consumer-based society. Featuring collectors, dealers, auctioneers and a rich range of artists, from current market darlings Jeff Koons, Gerhard Richter and Njideka Akunyili Crosby to one-time art star Larry Poons, the film exposes deep contradictions as it holds a mirror up to contemporary values and times, coaxing out the dynamics at play in pricing the priceless.

WHY I REC:
Holy shit lmao this movie is a RIDE. I don't know how the official summary makes it sound so much more boring than it is, but it's GREAT. There's everything you could ask for: pretentious artists, UNpretentious artists, flashy people, sad stories, general hilarity and poignancy by turns. You'll probably hate at least two of the people shown and love at least one - which ones those are depends more on your own views about art than the show. But it's not just fun to watch, it's lots of fun to discuss, too.

WHAT IT HAS:
Setting: In The City - well, that's ONE of the many settings, but I'd say the city (and the NYC scene specifically) is the general heart of it.
Scenes: Something Is Created - MANY somethings, it's a movie about contemporary art and artists, after all.
