I can't find the screenshot I took to show a friend, but the chick who played Hester in Mortal Engines. All the money they spent on that movie and they couldn't get her a decent wig.

Movie Hester's appearance was disappointing as a book fan.

I had heard that criticism too. Like she was supposed to be genuinely disfigured and she got the movie POTO treatment all, "He's slightly sunburnt on one side, to arms!"

If you're interested here's a story about how she's described in the books and why she "can't" look like that in the movie because "we need to believe that Tom and Hester fall in love" - yes, the director actually said that.
