Re: Getting Your Teeth Pulled

(Anonymous) 2019-05-21 09:03 am (UTC)(link)
Had all four pulled when I was in college (so a couple of decades ago). They put me out completely and I had a somewhat common reaction to whatever it is they used in that I started crying when I woke up (I didn't know it was a thing at the time so it was really confusing because I had no idea why I was crying). Three were extracted fairly easily, but one broke and that and getting it out caused a hell of a bruise on my lower left jaw. The extractions themselves leave very tender holes just behind your molars that will be very sensitive to anything touching them. They gave me this syringe thing to help clean them out (there's a curved plastic tube at the end so it can be angled to squirt water with enough force to move anything that gets stuck in there). There was a fair amount of drooling on my part the first day. Pudding and jello were pretty much all I ate the first couple of days (anything too hot or too cold wasn't good at first). Now, I would think the protein shakes and nutritional supplement drinks would work pretty well.
