That's mostly because she's not wearing a lot of (obvious) makeup in that linked picture while most male youtube beauty influenzas are basically decked out in layers and layers of the stuff. So what you're gauging as male or female may have something to do with the amount/type of makeup on a person rather than their actual face.

I was like, 14 when AbFab started; we had the first few series on VHS.

TBH, I've read comments to see if a fanfic sounds like something I'd like to read or not, and an overly high squee content is more likely to make me dismiss the story out of hand as mediocre glurge than think it's worth my time.

And there's been enough author!wank on goodreads to know that they read 'em.

I love it when people put tags in Tumblr posts like, "do not reblog if you ship x/y" and when I reblog the post I just think about how I ship them so hard and they can't do anything about it. XD
