How does that even work, OP? I'm honestly baffled by this secret! How does seeing one admittedly groundbreaking film that is IMO legitimately good compare to how many films one has seen?
You're saying that there are other films out there that are far better than Citizen Kane and thus one who thinks CK is one of the 'best' just hasn't enough of a range of films to compare it to? How do you even begin to make this analysis? I do consider Citizen Kane one of the best films of all time. And I consider myself a film buff. A person can say Citizen Kane is 'one of the best' and has distinct parameters for saying so such as technical excellence, great peformances script writing etc and then say the same for a bunch of other films, for different reasons. I think Citizen Kane is one of the best films of all time. I also think 'Planes Trains and Automobiles' is one of the best films of all time. Yes, CK is seen as one of the greats, but there is a reason for it.
