Thanos did nothing wrong.

You know, I sympathized with him a bit in Infinity War. But at this point he'd lost the even tiny amount of sympathy he'd had. He didn't even care any more. He just wanted to destroy everything. He needed to be gone, and I didn't mourn him at all. He did nothing but hurt. He was a cancer for the universe.

Not in a "he's right" kind of way or even a "he has an excuse" kind of way. Just in a "I understand him better now and find him a little sympathetic even if he's completely wrong and evil" kind of way.

You say that as if he wasn't made to be sympathized with. He was clearly a tragic figure.

lol no

Whereas I was satisfied I got to watch him die not once, but twice. Each to their own!

(Anonymous) 2019-05-24 11:28 pm (UTC)(link)
To each their own. I just found it really, really satisfying to see him realize he'd lost and there was nothing he could do. I'm glad they didn't have him cower and beg at the end; that wouldn't have been true to his character. The look of blankness that came over him was enough.

Yup. Thanos in this movie rang true for me for exactly the reasons you said. He's not the type who would beg. It made sense that he'd lose it after realizing that the people from Earth continued to mess with his plans. It also made sense that in his final moments he'd realize it was the end and just sit down and wait.

I wanted him to die in a worse way.

I feel this. Tony Stark needed killing, for purely Watsonian reasons.

It's pretty sad when Peter Porker is more faithful to the source material than the MCU Peter Parker.

you're doing it wrong
