Note about secrets regarding youtube/social personalities: ones like the ProJared one today reacting to entertainment news are fine. However, ones that directly personally accuse random youtubers of things (especially anything criminal), or naming and shaming and posting real names and faces, etc. are going to mysteriously disappear into the ether.

("This guy is a terrible person, here's a list of things he's done, don't watch him" is not really a secret anyway, it's a PSA. If you feel you've got to warn people, you can do that just as easily in the General thread.)

I still like the aesthetic of these movies. I just wish they'd lived up to their potential. 2 and 3 were awful. And 1 was actually kind of overrated in terms of plot. The aesthetics, technology and effects were great. But the plotting and acting wasn't so good.

It feels like a Candle Cove-esque fever dream of a puppet show.

When you create a world where men have always had the power and women have even less power than they had in the real world at the sort of time period you are basing your thing on, it is a bit iffy to me to create a cautionary tale about power featuring one of the few women to actually get power. I think even if the story had been entirely effective, it would have given me pause for this reason.

This is where I'm at OP. At first I was like "woah this is awkward" and then I thought "but why? The character in the show and the actress have been of age for years"

And then I accepted it as just nice to see a young woman making a decision that she was going to get some from someone who was obviously mutually attracted to her. Especially in a show that has sometimes clobbered you over the head with rape scenes. It was also fairly tasteful for GOT? You didn't see much and there weren't many lingering close up shots on her.

Plus if I were in my late teens again and knew I might die the next day I'd probably do exactly the same thing if my crush were around somewhere so..

I've actually been rooting more for Dany in these last couple of episodes than I have for most of the series.

She joins Jon to fight the Night King and ends up losing Viserion, Mormont, and most of her people, and then Sansa and Arya are like, "Thanks for the help, but we don't want to carry our side of the bargain now."

Then there's the truth about Jon, who despite Dany's pleas tells Sansa, who tells Tyrion, who tells Varys, who tries to poison Dany after Cersei's forces kill Rhaegal and Missandei (but she's the bad guy for having the Spider executed).

At this point I'm not blaming Dany for going a little crazy and barbecuing King's Landing. She lost two of her children and two of her closest friends, and was rewarded with ungratefulness and betrayal.

I'm also not weeping for the people who called for Ned's head, turned on Tyrion, and empowered the High Sparrow's persecution of Loras and Margaery. Or for Cersei, who was offered a peaceful surrender by Dany and responded by decapitating her friend.

There's also the double standard with Jon being horrified by Dany, but has no problem allying himself with the wildlings after all of their rape and pillaging (i.e. Ollie's village, Mole's Town). The same goes for the fans who act like Dany's a monster now but love Tormund.

Hawkeye's farm exists because...Joss Whedon I think? Ant-man's wife's house is just a normal house in the suburbs. It just looks overrun because people have not been doing maintenance. I guess half the world dying and having a kid makes you change your priorities. Plus, from what we saw of the inside of the cabin looks really high tech.
