Well, one, being alive costs money, and being alive is a prerequisite for producing fanfiction.

Two, more generally, what is the moral aspect of the distinction where one is better than the other.

Nobody pays me for making comments on f!s and I need to be alive to do that.

I'm not saying one is better than the other, but printing doujinshi puts the creator at financial deficit that posting fanfic online does not. If the fanfic was printed for distribution, a fee to recoup the cost of printing would be fine in my eyes. I am however against either making a profit.

I think paying people to post comments is dumb and doesn't make sense unless the payer is a corporation looking for advertisers
