I would suggest that those people try to submit short stories to magazines and websites so they can both get that money and build connections in the industry.

only if they get approved out of other hundreds of applicants.

you make it sound it's so easy when you know it's not. stop being purposefully obtuse and just say you see no value in budding writers using fanfic as a way to either enhance their craft to survive and/or use it as a starting point for their writing career.

just tell me you see no value in writing instead of making it seem it's so fucking easy when it's not.

Many writers worked and juggled jobs while enhancing their craft and writing their first novel, JKR among them. How does saying this make me someone who sees no value in writing?
