I find the worst part of season 8 is that I can kinda see how it was supposed to go. All the pieces are there but never bothered to be shown or portrayed as tragic. The character arcs are there but so badly done they might as well not have been.

I think this is me. I know what they were trying to do and I accept certain things were foreshadowed. But the way we got there was just epic disappointment as nothing seemed to be properly earned. I wish the last two seasons had been full length but I wonder if that would've even solved anything.

Also the series has obviously suffered since it ran out of source material (see Tyrion's dialogue as an example. Say what you want about GRRM's overall writing skills but his dialogue game is usually good. Having said that Tyrion does sod all in the fifth and probably final book really so idk.)

GRRM gave them the bullet points thinking they would fill in the gaps. Instead, they just used the bullet points.

this is exactly how i felt. it felt like watching a 1h-sth trailer each episode :/

And to make things worse those bullet points included characters that were cut from the show. It's blatantly obvious Cersei was gone at this point in the story.
