Fire is unpredictable. Are firefighters going to be risking their lives to put out the inferno? What about the surrounding buildings and the people inside them? And that's more endangered firefighters. What about any non-Klan members inside the convention? Like janitors or security? What if Klan members brought their kids?

It's called thinking things through. It's about considering the unforeseen consequences of violent actions. It's called being an intelligent, decent person.

Well, first, I'd consider the murderer out of control. I'd understand what drove them to take and risk so many lives, but they would need to be caught and suffer the consequences of their actions.

And, yes, I would care.

A lot of Klan members were born into the cult, and I've seen so many leave it and completely turn around as people; there's hope as long as there's life.

I only condone killing when it's in self-defense or in the defense of others. Randomly massacring large groups of people, even incredibly flawed, misguided people is beyond inhumane--it's inhuman.

Now, if you'd used Nazis as an example (and, no, they are not the same thing--not YET), and I mean dyed in the wool, real fucking Nazis? That's a different story. I still wouldn't condone setting their conventions on fire, innocent people might get hurt, but a clean bullet to the back of their skulls IS self-defense and the defense of others. It's not only perfectly acceptable, but necessary.

This whole "conversation" is about accountability, remember?

Holding people accountable means telling them what they did was wrong. It means telling them Do Not Commit This Crime Again. To do that you have to at least pretend to care the crime was committed in the first place.

It does not mean shrugging and telling the criminal I'm not sad or upset you did that, because that attitude isn't holding them accountable, it sends the message what they did was okay. It says they can murder anyone they feel like, whenever they feel like.

Question time! Because I've noticed people who hand-wave murder tend to respond differently to sexual violence, and I'm curious to see just how depraved you are:

A bunch of guys gang-rape members of the Klan-- say, a sixteen year old girl and her eighteen year old brother. Do you A, continue not caring, because it's not like they're people, right? Or B, do you act like a fucking human being and want the rapists to go to prison?

And once again, nobody seriously suggested that the girl driving go free. They just weren't too upset over losing a guy who ran on a campaign of "with Jews, we lose."

And yes, for a lot of people rape or sexual-based crimes are considered to be more evil (look up "Rape Is a Special Kind of Evil"). It's why Cersei's walk of atonement bothered me more than Dany dropping a building on her did.

I didn't like Jon killing Olly.

I know why he did it, and in-world it was legally permissible, but I don't like kids getting murdered.

As for Jon killing Daenerys? Well, she was about to wage war on the entire world and burn millions, so within that narrative I have no problem with Jon stopping her. He saved a lot of people.

On the other hand, the groundwork for her genocidal behavior wasn't established well enough for me to accept she wanted to conquer the known world in the first place.

So, my feelings are complicated.

This isn't about comparing one crime to another. That wasn't ever the point; that wasn't the question being asked. The question being asked was: why do you dehumanize people? Indifferently and hypocritically condone their murder and suffering until they're subjected to horrors even you can't stomach.

Like you said: rape is considered the worst crime anyone can commit, it's worse than killing to some people, so it was easy to corner you with it. You couldn't admit to being for rape, even if it's non-humans like the KKK being raped. You'd give up any and all moral high-ground (like you had any to begin with).

And you obviously weren't going to change your mind about not caring if they get burned to death, because you're incapable of admitting when you're wrong.

It was too easy catching you in a trap of your own sociopathic hypocrisy.

It doesn't matter if I agree with Jon killing Daenerys. It doesn't matter if Jon, for some reason, raped her. Either one of those things happening to her would not be a good thing. But neither was ever the point.

The point is: Daenerys was a human being.

I hate what she wanted to do to the world. She needed to be stopped, but that doesn't mean I have to dehumanize her. It doesn't mean I couldn't mourn her death and regret it had to happen. Why? Because I have a soul.

You have no soul.

I can't put it more plainly.

It's why you can't grasp that even when bad people die it can be a sad thing. Hell, it's not like anyone expects you to take flowers to their graves, or hate their killer, but the least you could do is hope the pain and suffering stops there. Instead you shrug, say whatever, and you don't care if anything changes for the better. As far as you're concerned everything can stay hopeless and cruel, and more killing is just fine with you.
