I don't think we're doing women any favors by painting them as peaceful and sinless - that's just benevolent sexism. Women can be violent and dangerous. Women do kill and rape men; those jokes are NEVER funny and it's not okay that women get away with it because there's an underlying assumption that women are too weak and harmless to actually go through with threats.

I don't think we're doing men any favors by painting them as so feeble that they panic at a kill all men joke - that's just reverse sexism. Men can be violent and dangerous. Men do kill and rape women; those jokes are NEVER funny and it's not okay that men get away with it because there's an underlying assumption that men are too sweet-tempered and softhearted to actually go through with threats.

Nobody is doing this.

It's just shitty to be shitty to an entire group of people, even if you justify by saying it's in response to the past shitty behavior of people in that group. How does that make you any better? That is what does nobody any favors, and is just continuing the shitty cycle.
