Soap operas are the best for this.

A lot of the characters will have fairly common names (like Alan, Monica, and Laura from General Hospital), but then a few will have really uncommon ones (like Jagger, Yank, and Blackie, also from General Hospital).

Santa Barbara was populated with the likes of Ted, Kelly, and Scott, but also Dash, Laken, and Flame.

Guiding Light had Matt, Beth, and Nick, but then there were Reva, Hart, and Meta.

ayrt

I loved Santa Barbara and was so disappointed when it was cancelled. I got so into Ted and Lily towards the end. And Gina was strangely entertaining. I was pleased to see some of the actors pop up on other soaps and shows, but a lot never really did. I've watched at least an episode or two of a bunch of things Eric Close has been in because of this show.
