Not bothering anon for this. I did not come out of the new Aladdin shipping Jafar/Jasmine. But I did come out of it majorly shipping Jafar/Aladdin and Genie/Aladdin. Jasmine is awesome and doesn't need a man.

Of course she doesn't need a man. That's why it's so hot when Jafar menaces her. I mean, did you originally ship them in a happily-ever-after way or something? LOL

No. I just never felt this strongly about her being on her own with the animated one. And I didn't feel any chemistry between the actors, whereas I saw chemistry with the animated characters (and with the Aladdin and Jafar actors). The scene that made me ship in the animated one was very different in the live action one too, so the part that made me ship wasn't there.

I've always loved Genie/Aladdin and ~wished~ it was a more popular ship so I was really happy to read this comment! <3
