Not bothering anon for this. I did not come out of the new Aladdin shipping Jafar/Jasmine. But I did come out of it majorly shipping Jafar/Aladdin and Genie/Aladdin. Jasmine is awesome and doesn't need a man.

I get irrationally annoyed whenever m-preg fangirls come into spoiler threads for Chinese BL webnovels and gush about how much they hope it has m-preg and omg will there be babies?! and are very vocally disappointed whenever that's not the case. I'm glad for every novel that doesn't have that shit (unfortunately, it's ridiculously popular), stop bringing it up every five posts damn it.

As cute as the new show is, I kind of hate the Moomin revival because the fandom has now been infested by the shitty Tumblr kiddy callout squad and I just want them to get their digusting grubby anti fingers off that fandom and its long-time fanwork creators.

I still think at least one of the writers/showrunners on Once Upon a Time had a “hot rapist sorceress” kink, and I wish ABC/Disney had vetoed those storylines, especially after so many fans objected the first time. Rape and sexual assault don’t suddenly become okay if the victim is a man, but they just kept writing skeevy shit.

Danaerys was prone to evil from season 1. Burning and torturing people to death is morally inexcusable and I never understood why we were supposed to cheer for her when she was so horrible. I'm not letdown by how Season 8 treated her at all, only perturbed that people act like her character was suddenly changed.

Tohru is the most boring part of Fruits Basket. I don't even hate her, she honestly makes me laugh and smile. But the show is so focused on her when the Sohma family drama is infinitely more interesting. Likewise, Yuki and Kyo's personal stories are at their most compelling when Tohru isn't in the picture.

S!B Fruits Basket was written as a teenage romantic fantasy where the dopey, uncool outcast girl wins the affections of the school's mysterious school prince(s), who proceed to obsess over her and use her as an object of self-betterment and character development.

I wish I had friends IRL I could discuss fandoms/generally geek out with. My boyfriend consumes a lot of the same media I do but he generally just half-watches stuff, says it was "okay" and moves on, and isn't really up for discussing anything in-depth past that. I had a circle of geek friends a few years ago but there was some drama and they've all fallen out with each other. I see youtube videos of friends getting together and playing/reviewing games and just think "I wish I was there." I'm super anxious and shy but when it concerns my favourite fandoms I feel so comfortable and could talk for hours, and I don't have anyone to do it with anymore. /whine

I found Past!Nebula's actions in Endgame completely unbelievable. I mean, look at her in the first GotG movie - literally the second someone says to her, "Hey, your dad can get fucked, I have a magic rock and I'm gonna fuck shit up and kill him", she goes, "Awesome, I'm Team Ronon now, I am 110% in favour of Killing Thanos Dead".

Really, the moment she was back in the past, she should have gone, "Greetings Earthlings (and... assorted). I am Alternate Past Nebula, here to join your quest to Fuck With Thanos, because that is literally all I live for."

I wish this fanauthor who shared my taste in fic was wider-read. She’s an adult and English is her first language, but she writes and rewrites multiple drafts of each chapter of her fic because she thinks it’s badly done.

She wants to improve, but only wants to read original and fanfic that fits her very specific list of likes and dislikes, so she’s not picking up how good writing works from much of anywhere. She wants to publish original stuff someday, and she has the work ethic to do it, but she’s not gonna improve fast enough unless she reads more. A lot more.

But we’re not friends and it would be rude as fuck to butt in from nowhere with “you’re gonna suck as long as you write in a vacuum.”

As someone who's lost loved ones to cancer, the whole premise of the show "Life Sentence" makes me cringe. What a burden, no longer having terminal cancer.

One of my favorite types of scenes regardless of genre is the generic dimly lit bar where characters are just sitting around drinking and shooting the breeze. That's it. Nothing extraordinary, just enjoying a beer together, being normal people. I love these scenes so much that I actively look for fiction featuring bars; I guess I find them comforting in some quaint way.

I think I'm really easy to please when it comes to media. If I had fun, I think something is good. There are a lot of things I enjoyed that reviewers seem to think were terrible. Maybe I have weird taste.

This is even more true with movies because of how much I enjoy the movie theater experience. It is a de-stressor for me. I've seen so-so movies multiple times in the theater just because it was the only thing fun playing when I was having a bad week.

(Unrelated but I've been reading Bowser/Luigi fics. Thanks to that anon who made the secret because this ship (fandom interpretation, at least) is super adorable).
