One of my favorite types of scenes regardless of genre is the generic dimly lit bar where characters are just sitting around drinking and shooting the breeze. That's it. Nothing extraordinary, just enjoying a beer together, being normal people. I love these scenes so much that I actively look for fiction featuring bars; I guess I find them comforting in some quaint way.

It's slice of life with no other plot than people hanging out at a bar but you might be interested in the anime "Bartender".
