Well, they're mostly Stucky shippers so it's a reasonable assumption to make. People dislike Tony in CW -> like Steve -> like Stucky. Because there's no objective reason to pick one side in CW so it's all subjective, and usually it's cos one of the characters opposes another. Peoople who are, let's say, ship Coulson/Clint usually would just say that CW is riddled with plotholes and OOC so neither side is better than another.

Nope, lots of people just dislike Tony with no ulterior motive. Source: me. Any one of the Avengers opposing him in CW would have had my vote, didn't matter who.

(Anonymous) 2019-05-28 01:47 am (UTC)(link)
Agreed.

I mean, you're proving at least part of AYRT's comment for them, here. --> there's no objective reason to pick one side in CW so it's all subjective, and usually it's cos one of the characters opposes another.

(Anonymous) 2019-05-28 10:12 am (UTC)(link)
Sure, but their main point was that to oppose Tony I'd have to ship Stucky and that's still crap.

(Anonymous) 2019-05-28 12:19 pm (UTC)(link)
the anon who made that comment
Well you proved that not all Steve fans ship Stucky. But most do.

(Anonymous) 2019-05-28 01:28 pm (UTC)(link)
No, they really don't. You repeating it doesn't make it true.

I disagree. I dislike how Tony has taken over so much of the screentime in movies that aren't his, including Civil War. I also thought he was completely unreasonable at the end of Civil War. (I also though there were glaring plot holes in that movie, like how a secret assassin allows his face to be caught an immortalized on camera while assassinating someone.) And I don't ship Stucky in the slightest. And I have talked to many people who share my views. So I definitely dont feel it is mostly Stucky shippers who feel that way.

Yep, example: Turning the Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man into Tony's neglected apprentice with a spider-themed Iron Man suit and a bad case of hero worship on Tony.

Not to mention that out of all of the Captain America stories where he gets disillusioned with the state of the system he's working for and goes off to find himself and the "Real America," they pick a cross-over event that was widely disliked but had maximum Tony.

I'm livid at how they did Peter so dirty with these movies.

(Anonymous) 2019-05-28 10:30 am (UTC)(link)
Have you seen traincat's posts about MCU Peter? Also has a lot of interesting posts about MCU using Miles Morales background for MCU Peter.

https://traincat.tumblr.com/tagged/traincat+talks+homecoming/

Check the 'mcu criticism' and 'mcu negativity' also, I think some of them aren't in the one I linked.

(Fan of Spider-man since a kid, zero interest in MCU Spider-sidekick or Avengers. Also let the poor man stay an adult in the movies, I never associated him with those short years in high school.)

ayrt- ooh, thanks! I'm glad we at least had Into The Spiderverse to show what Spiderman CAN be.

(Anonymous) 2019-05-28 01:01 pm (UTC)(link)
ayrt

It was the best! It made me remember how much I loved Peter and Spider-man. And I tend to be reluctant about other characters being given an established character's hardwon identity while being expected to immediately transfer my attachment to them, but I'm so excited for more Miles and Gwen's spinoff movie.

I ship samsteve and dislike tony but CW is still terrible and riddled with plotholes

(Anonymous) 2019-05-28 12:22 pm (UTC)(link)
So you're another Steve's fan who hates Tony. People who don't like Steve very rarely do that.

(Anonymous) 2019-05-28 01:16 pm (UTC)(link)
I'm on team T'Challa/Zemo. Everyone else in that movie was written by four-year-olds playing in a sandbox.

(Anonymous) 2019-05-28 01:30 pm (UTC)(link)
DA why are you so insistent that the only reason someone could dislike Tony is if they're blinded by love for Steve?

(Anonymous) 2019-05-28 08:06 pm (UTC)(link)
because that's actually the case? People can and do dislike both Steve and Tony, as they're both wrong in CW. Those who dislike only Tony in CW are Steve's fans.

(Anonymous) 2019-05-28 08:17 pm (UTC)(link)
Maybe this is a miscommunication then. If you're saying it's a "Tony is right and therefore Steve is wrong" thing versus a "Steve is right and therefore Tony is wrong" thing, then yeah, as others ITT have said, CW just sucks in general and everyone is poorly written.

But to me it sounds like you're saying "ONLY people who are obsessed with Steve would think Tony is wrong" which is not accurate. Basically, which is the cause and which is the effect here?

(Anonymous) 2019-05-28 11:03 pm (UTC)(link)
Nah, you pegged me right. IMHO there's no reason to side with Steve in CW because objectively Tony and Steve were both wrong, so it must be Steve's fans. And in my experience they are.
