Kids are the target audience. And kids love repetition. It's a valid point.

It's not wrong but it's not really valid either.

I mean, yes, the movies are entertainment products intended to make money by appealing to children. And if you want to say that's all that they are, then it's completely valid to say that it doesn't matter that they're repetitive.

But if you also want to think about them as art, or at least as interesting bits of culture, then I think you have to be open to points of view that aren't centered how much money they make by appealing to their target audience. And that's definitely the way that people do approach Pixar movies.

But the movies the OP is talking about are not even bad. They just have the same general themes.

LOL, yes. It's right up there with:

... it's only fanfiction
... it's only popcorn entertainment

as justifications for why nobody can have any legitimate complaints or discussions about a piece of media.
