Re: Ahoy!

I did a bunch of yardwork yesterday and this morning that mostly involved beating the shit out of weeds with a hula hoe and raking up the resultant carnage, but now my hands really hurt. It reminds me of the time I got sick of trying to dig through gravel laden dirt and broke out a pickaxe instead. And I have so much weeding and debris clearing left to do, and then I gotta plant stuff where I cleared the weeds and keep it weed free, watered, and alive.

Also I have to put my cat’s topical flea meds on her. She hates them* and the instant I part the fur on the back of her neck, before I’ve even opened the little tube of toxic goop, she runs and hides.

*possibly with good reason since it’s one of the ones that can cause seizures, although luckily she’s been fine so far. I would switch to a different one, but this one lasts three months at a time so she spends less time overall flipping out.

Our cat makes a beeline for the door as soon as he sees the flea stuff, too. He has a really bad skin reaction to flea bites as well so we're like "no you don't understand YOU NEED THIS" but he always disappears for the rest of the day in protest.

AYRT—yeah mine’s allergic too, and has long hair, so she chews herself, ingests a ton of fur, and horks it up along with her dinner.

Same here (minus the long hair), and for some reason he always freaks out and sprints across the room in the process, which makes cleanup extra fun. :< If only they could understand we're just trying to help.
