I hated the movie and couldn't finish it, but I can't imagine ending a friendship over someone recommending it to me. Even if it was that, I agree with the other commenters that it is on her, not you. And if someone seems like they'd like the movie, I would think recommending it is still a fine idea. I'm sorry this happened to you.
