LGBTQ flags and color theory

It's pride month and I want to know, from an artistic standpoint, what the best pride flag is.

Asexual or Gay, since I really don't like pink, and love purple/grey.

Asexual is good, so is the lesbian/lipstick lesbian is cute but I just like red so I’m biased there. I like the bi flag too, more than the pan flag, but my gf strongly disagrees with that so ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

The heterosexual one is cracking me up. I didn't know there were separate gay and lesbian flags. Why does gay get the whole rainbow and lesbian is only pink? I had been working under the assumption that the rainbow represented diversity and inclusivity and was kind of the umbrella pride flag, not just the flag for gay men. Anyway, the rainbow flag is the prettiest.

The rainbow flag represents the lgbt community as a whole - so pretty much any flag represents a subcategory. That includes the bi flag, the trans flag, the lesbian flag, etc. And flags are just really personal preference anyway.

In that case, if there's a separate lesbian flag, they should may a separate flag for gay men, too!

They should - flags are pretty “user-generated” nowadays so really it would just take someone designing it and then people using it for that to happen

I don't know how artistic this explanation is but I like the pan flag best because it reminds me of art class at school and the year we were only allowed to use primary colors and had to mix them to get everything else.

My full art kit that year was five Manley wax crayons (magenta, lemon, cyan, black & white) and multiple sponges and rags (to mix the colors, do fades, etc).
