How to deal with not caring

[personal profile] dani_phantasma 2019-06-08 10:36 pm (UTC)(link)
I feel like I find it hard to care about things or get excited about things without caffeine. I lose motivation so much no matter how hard I try.

Even going to a mall I used to love isn’t as entertaining any more. Who cares it’s just stuff. It’s such a miserable place to be in but I don’t know how to get out of it.

Is this growing up or growing out of things? It really sucks. Everything was happier when I was a child. I’m starting to feel like my life is just over

Sounds like depression, tbh. Or you could just need a change of pace. If you can, try travel? It doesn't have to be anywhere exotic, just a daytrip or a short roadtrip. Not only are new experiences envigorating, but they often give you a new appreciation for your everyday life, too.

The first thing that I would pursue is depression. And talking to a therapist about depression would most likely also go into a lot of the other possible reasons that you might be feeling that way.

Also <3 <3 <3 that feeling is so hard and I'm sorry you feel that way

This is how I felt when I was depressed. See a doctor.

This sounds like depression. Losing interest in everything and being miserable all the time=/=adulthood.

You might have developed something of an addiction to caffeine if you drink a lot of it and might be experiencing 'crashing' when you come down off of it. Or your dopamine levels in general might be low; exercise (such as jogging) and thought provoking literature ('mental stretching') was the only thing that helped me feel half way at ease on a day to day basis.
