I'm just waiting for Nintendo since Sony isn't participating this year. :(

The Agatha Christie Poirot books or TV shows with David Suchet as Poirot are excellent.

a lot of what I would have said has already been mentioned but I do want to add two things:
The Chestnut Man--a very spooky novel about a serial killer. The guy who wrote it is Danish but I got a good translation into English.
CSI, both Vegas and New York but I wouldn't watch the Vegas ones during or after a major character died at the ind of S8.

I used to live in New York. It's a fascinating city.

I can read really fast but I've never counted. Probably a very high number, I read a lot.

It's going to hit 85 this week and that is unheard of in Seattle at this time of year. In August or so, sure, but in June?? We're normally still in the high 60s/low 70s at this point.

They're already saying that we're probably going to have another hot, smoky summer, and I'm dreading it. The smoke was so bad last year, but no residences have A/C here so we had to make a totally shitty rig out of some window fans and heavy duty filters just to get some of the fuckin heat out of the building. And even then we had to wear N95 masks. Ugh. I'm gonna move to the Yukon.

Father Brown 2013 is great. There are some fanvids and some shipping going on.
Sledge Hammer is very funny.
Monk 2002 is also not bad. Adrian Monk is a brilliant San Francisco detective, whose obsessive compulsive disorder just happens to get in the way.
Life on Mars bbc
Psych 2006

For a more serious mood:
Murder Rooms 2000
Whitechapel 2009

Phantasy Star Online 2 was a surprise! I'm looking forward to that.

Aside from that, I just want to go on record saying that I'm really beginning to hate "realism" as an ideal, regardless of genre. The new Tales of just looks so... generic, now. The cel-shaded, brightly-colored style was so intrinsic to the series, it made it feel like proper fantasy, and I'm more upset than I would have expected that it's being tossed away for the sake of "realism".

Breath of the Wild's Hyrule. I would love to explore through that world. Pick around through all the colossal ruins, ride a horse through beautiful, spacious fields to visit cities filled with kind, interesting people. It's my ideal world.

Let marriage be held in honor among all, and let the marriage bed be undefiled, for God will judge the sexually immoral and adulterous.

I'd love to visit a few places in the One Piece world - Water Seven, Skypeia, maybe Dressrosa too after they rebuild. Sabaody might be a bit dangerous but lbr no one would kidnap me to put in a slave auction so I'll just go to the theme park, it's cool.

Oh and Fishman Island. Never mind the mermaids, I want to stare at the glorious buff fishmen.

(Anonymous) 2019-06-09 11:24 pm (UTC)(link)
That sounds pretty fetishy for a YA book, lol.

Re: How many books do you read a year?

(Anonymous) 2019-06-09 11:25 pm (UTC)(link)
Through most of my twenties I was reading 40-50 books a year. The last few years I've only read maybe 5 books per year. At some point I'll probably go through a phase where I read more again, but I'm not worried about it either way. Right now I'm more into doing the most challenging logic puzzles I can find. And reading fanfic.

I'm a slow reader. 30-40 pages an hour has always been my average speed, regardless of whether I'm reading Gravity's Rainbow or Twilight.

Re: What internet hacks do you actually use?

[personal profile] philstar22 2019-06-09 11:29 pm (UTC)(link)
I use Stylish. Mostly just for Tumblr. I also use the Youtube to MP3 app. And I use video blocker to block specific users on youtube.
