Re: Weirdest Things You've Felt Apologetic About

i was really physically sick and exhausted during the last theater performance i worked on with kids. i'm normally not so short with them but i had been having a rough (oh god. RoUGH) time and during warm up of like our third to last show i was asking the kids to start stretching and this boy snaps "what if i don't want to" in a super snarky way

and immediately without thinking about what i was saying i respond, calmly while still stretching, "well then it's a good thing i don't have to care what you want" adhkjfdhgdk

followed by etc about as a member of this cast you've agreed to be part of this production and listen to me as your stage manager and right now i am telling you to stretch! blah blah. a few kids laughed a little but it wasn't a huge deal. the boy who was being clever is a kid i have worked w a lot before and like i know he knows i don't hate him or anything. and as resilient children oft do, he moved on and didn't care about it fifteen minutes later (which i know bc i followed up with him after) BUT i still think about it and feel so bad?
