Whenever someone mentions Cassandra Clare, I kinda want to say "I knew her! She was the worst!" Except I didn't really know her. I was just in the HP fandom at the same time and remember all the wank.

Bonus Secret: I thought that her one Draco fic was going to be the Harry Potter version of Freaky Friday and was very disappointed.

And my secret is I'm tired of all the wank about her. Yes, she plagerized in her fanfic days. She didn't in her published novels. Not that I think her published stuff is any good. But she didn't plagerize them, and people seem to think that she did. Also, all the fat comments regarding her. Like, really? how does that have anything to do with anything?

AYRT: I don't even care about the plagiarism anymore, it just amuses me that I have this whole other association with her non-fandom people are unaware of.

The fat comments were awful. I didn't like the way a lot of her critics talked about her.

The fat comments always made me cringe. I've had hangups about my weight for years.

I don't think people realize it but even if its a nasty person they're mocking the looks of, people who might not be awful will see/hear and feel bad themselves.

If you dislike a person for their behavior I feel like you should talk about their behavior, once it gets into things like their looks or race or sexual orientation or whatnot, the person doing the criticizing is being an asshole.

I think plagiarism is kinda like cheating on somebody. In the way that there's a very specific line you have to cross, and after you cross that line it's hard not to think they wouldn't cross it again.
