I go one of two ways when I'm watching (or reading) something, depending on my mood. Sometimes I watch with "what could happen?" in mind looking out for clues etc and I really do see a twist coming. Other times I don't bother thinking about it too hard and just let the story take me wherever. As I said, it depends on my mood and probably the genre. Sometimes it's fun to speculate but there's a difference between having fun and being obnoxious.

And yeah I can't stand it when you get fans acting like anyone who didn't see something coming is stupid. Maybe they weren't actively looking for anything? Maybe they were just genuinely surprised. I feel like throwing your weight around about how clever you are because you noticed Twist A and Plot Point B is definitely you over-compensating for something.

Same. I'm not always trying to predict things. Often, I'm just going with the flow, letting things happen and not putting too much mental energy into it. I didn't see a thing coming because I wasn't bothering to think about it. I was never participating in the Totally Saw it Coming competition!
