GRRM is talking about Tyrion, but I think it would also apply to Jaime.

Except Jaime is very much NOT like Tywin. He wants to be but he isn't.

Also, Jaime immediately thinks to himself (after threatening the baby), who ridiculous and disgusting of a threat that was. So nah, he wasn't oging to carry it out.

Regardless, even if he did kill the kid, Dany still committed genocide.

Not all destruction on a mass scale is genocide. She very specifically targeted only the slavers/people in charge when she took a city. Women and children, generally the biggest targets in a genocide, were protected.

Not /everyone/. Just a lot of people. And even if she killed every last person, it still wouldn't be genocide, because the rest of Westeros was fine. Definitely mass murder, just not genocide.

To use a more precise definition: "Genocide is intentional action to destroy a people (usually defined as an ethnic, national, racial, or religious group) in whole or in part. The hybrid word "genocide" is a combination of the Greek word γένος ("race, people") and the Latin suffix -caedo ("act of killing")"

She absolutely went in for mass slaughter, I'm not saying she didn't. But she was not trying to intentionally wipe out the entire Westerosi people (or for that matter, the entire race of any of her conquered cities), so it was not a genocide.

Would it make you feel better if I said, "Oh, she didn't commit genocide, she only murdered thousands of people."

Why did she kill them? Because they were loyal to Cersei. She also would commit genocide mass murdered all of Westeros if she had the chance.

But hey, Dany is no longer a genocidal maniac! She only killed thousands of people because she is a monstrous child throwing a tantrum. Thankfully she was put down before she could commit genocide mass murder anyone else who didn't bow down to her might.

And Dany was attacking everyone indiscriminately, but she didn't deliberately focus on children like Jaime did.

You are comparing two unlike things. One is a serial killer, the other is an act of war decided upon by a committee. But let's pretend the bombing was just one dude who did it for fun. They are both evil because they both kill. However, the person who killed millions is more destructive.

Of course, you are still comparing someone who has an attempted murder on his hands vs someone who literally burnt thousands of men, women, and children alive because she was throwing a tantrum.

Sorry, but Dany is evil. She probably has the highest body count in the show.

Stalin killed more people than Hitler, but Hitler is still largely viewed as being more evil.

And I'm sure Jaime's body count would be higher if he had a dragon too. Like, he was still defending Cersei and singing her praises after she blew up the sept with dragonfire, so he clearly isn't too bothered by acts of mass murder like that.

So now we are just going with stuff that could have happened? Well, Dany's body count would have been much higher if she had not been killed like a dog that got its first taste of blood. What with her having a nuke and telling her people that she would take Westeros by force. Of course, if we jump out of hypothetical land, Dany killed more people in the show than anyone else. She definitely killed more innocent women and children than anyone else.
