Re: What are some little annoying things in your life right now?

My leg hurts a bit. Or rather my foot. I'm pretty sure it's a mild inflammation of the Achilles tendon but now my mother had to butt in and tell me it's totally thrombosis and even though I'm very sure it isn't, I'm a bit anxious now.

Thrombosis is more than just a bit painful, and has more symptoms than just pain.

If you have severe pain, swelling, discoloration, or detect a hard lump in your leg, get it checked out immediately. If you have numbness in your leg that's more persistent than "hey, I just sat in a weird spot and everything below my butt is now going to be pins and needles for the next five minutes", get it checked out immediately.

If it's just a bit of foot pain, you might still want to get it checked out if it doesn't clear up, just to make sure it's not something that will require intervention if it's not properly managed, but without other symptoms your mother's hearing "four-legged animal" and Web MDing zebras. Especially if you don't have significant risk factors for clotting disorders.

I think she has a risk for thrombosis and that's why she's overly cautious. The pain is located directly at the Achilles tendon and a bit further up when I stand too long (which then can hurt a lot) but that's exactly the point where the tendon is connected to the muscle. I am checking for swelling and everything but there's nothing - I thought there was some numbness but it turned out that it was the anti-pain balm I had on.
I do intend to make an appointment with a doctor next week (today is a holiday and all doctors offices except for hospitals are closed today and tomorrow). I'll also ask a friend's mother who is an MTA tomorrow for a bit of peace of mind until next week.
