(Anonymous) 2019-06-20 01:15 pm (UTC)(link)If you have severe pain, swelling, discoloration, or detect a hard lump in your leg, get it checked out immediately. If you have numbness in your leg that's more persistent than "hey, I just sat in a weird spot and everything below my butt is now going to be pins and needles for the next five minutes", get it checked out immediately.
If it's just a bit of foot pain, you might still want to get it checked out if it doesn't clear up, just to make sure it's not something that will require intervention if it's not properly managed, but without other symptoms your mother's hearing "four-legged animal" and Web MDing zebras. Especially if you don't have significant risk factors for clotting disorders.

(Anonymous) 2019-06-20 08:45 pm (UTC)(link)I do intend to make an appointment with a doctor next week (today is a holiday and all doctors offices except for hospitals are closed today and tomorrow). I'll also ask a friend's mother who is an MTA tomorrow for a bit of peace of mind until next week.
