Students had their exams today - and I graded them all, and sent out all the results, and only one of them failed so I am feeling SUPER AWESOME!

Good for you! I finished exchanging the Euros I brought home from vacation and picking up my held mail. I got back two weeks ago so it's kind of sad that it took me so long but at least I finally did it.

Today I have a doctor's appointment, which I put off making for about a month, so that's something? IDK, it's 8am here, not a lot of time for getting shit done.
Also it's like four degrees so I'm dying.

I did get a notice about a position that's remote FT, but they have no idea about flexibility and freedom so far bc it's a new change.

I finished work on a case, prepared for two hearings that are happening tomorrow morning, finished preparing for the meeting I was leading in the evening and then finished leading the meeting.

All while being hormonal and freezing cold and itching like crazy from the hives down the back of my legs.

Went to the gym! I hate GOING to the gym, even if while I am there, I enjoy the fuck out of it. It's weird. So I try and go on my way home from work so I don't lose that momentum to go by coming home and sitting down.

Monster Hunter World!! $30 is a great deal for that game, and it's getting a new expansion really soon so there's a lot of content to blast through. :D

If you're into fighting games, Soulcalibur VI is super solid. It's got a story/mission mode where you use your own fighter, or there's arcade style as usual. I've gotten a lot of fun out of it, and it's only $20 right now.

It's not as big a discount, it's only down to $40, but Devil May Cry 5 is super fun if you're into really flashy, really bombastic fighting style that plays really fluidly. It's super funny, and the new characters introduced (V and Nico) are fantastic. That said-- it's short. Like... short. It does suffer quite a bit in story because the whole thing is rushed af. I recommend it, but $40 is about the highest point of reasonable for the amount of gameplay you get out of it (unless you're a completionist, in which case I'd say it's definitely worth it!).

Lastly, if you have not, GET CRYPT OF THE NECRODANCER IT IS ONLY $3 AND IT IS SO FUN. It's a roguelike dungeon-crawler that had a baby with a rhythm game and it is exceptional. The music is stellar, the gameplay is fun and keeps you coming back.

Change: Homeless Survival Experience (made to raise awareness for homelessness, partial proceeds go to charity)
Hellblade: Senua's Sacrifice (SO! BEAUTIFUL!)
The Messenger (/this/ is what eight-bit looks like! enough with undertale and other games doing shitty work and passing it off as aesthetic)
Freddies Fish (found this game in a cereal box and literally did not know it actually existed... same with pyjama sam)
Tales of Vesparia (because i have to)
Chips Challenge (plus the second, which was included on basically all early pc's and is forever fun to play!)

Why do people have to tarnish celebs?

Scenario: Somebody says they love a certain celeb and gushes about them.

Somebody else comes up and lists bad things that celeb did and tells the person supporting that celeb that they're just as bad or ascribe to those beliefs by supporting the celeb.

I can totally understand it if the celeb is something like an unapologetic rapist, pedophile, white supremacist, antisemitic, homophobic/transphobic or whatever other bad things that Should Be Known About A Person.

But let's say they made a stupid sexist tweet ten years ago and immediately stopped making tweets like that after a sincere apology? They made a really bad joke with the word "retard" in it three years ago and apologized and stopped using that word? They did or said something icky in an interview that they clarified and apologized for when called out on it?

Why bring that up? What makes people want to 'ruin' someone's love of a celebrity who made a mistake and did their best to fix it? What is the point of an apology if they're cancelled forever over mistakes?

I dont think celebrities should be put on pedestals...but i also think that sometimes the people listing the bad stuff celebrities did are looking for wokeness points.

Virtue signaling - the person making all the "shocking revelations" has to constantly examine and criticise the conduct of others, or risk the critical eye falling on them and their behaviour.

I enjoy bringing up the unquestionably shitty stuff you make an exception for.

I guess I would bring up smaller stuff if I know a friend who mentions loving that celebrity wouldn't support them if they knew that particular thing.
