The vast majority of film critics I have ever read /do/ take that into account. The snobby critics are fairly rare. But they do watch a loooooooot more films than a regular person does, and they watch a lot more varied films, so they naturally get bored easier by repetetive and mediocre plots. It's a natural side-effect of consuming a vast quantity of any art or entertainment, you are less impressed with run-of-the-mill stuff.
