This being a clear example. Despite south asian being twice the population of Black British, there isn't anything like equal representation in British media media. Particularly of our largest BME group - Indians (on the rare time a south asian character is portrayed, they are inevitably Pakistani or Bangledeshi muslim).
It'd be interesting to analyse why. And when I say interesting, I mean depressing because it would be that these groups aren't suitably 'ethnic' enough for the people who want 'diversity' and have more complicated stories in their intersection with mainstream society.

Fair point. I would be interested how the data actually stacks up. I'd be amazed if it wasn't as I portray it though. Particularly if you take out any asian woman not wearing a headscarf*.
*because diversity point scoring, and making ham-handed morality tales is more important than representation.
