Re: Things you cannot forgive...

My mother is a very conservative Christian, and I've made the choice to forgive a lot of shit she's said to me and that I've heard her say around to other family members (who are mostly just as conservative, but some of the younger ones are more like me).

But I can't forgive her for saying in front of my preteen cousins that any abuse we face is our deserved punishment from God for humanity's sins, and sometimes we should endure it instead of trying to escape it. (Divorce is also no-no, so if your spouse is abusive? It's God's will!) It's an awful thing to say to anyone, but I can't forgive her for saying it in front of children who look up to her. They don't know me as well, but I said she was wrong and I hope their mom will also teach them better.
