(Anonymous) 2019-07-03 01:04 am (UTC)(link)Oh man, I totally relate to this. I've never made it to ten years with a fandom, but I was in one fandom from 2007 to 2012, then another from 2012 to 2019. Now I'm in a new one, but it's pretty small, and already on the way out of relevance, and I just dont even know how to handle it.
I dont really have an issue with resenting authors for moving on, but I suspect that's only because my last two fandoms were huge. Plus, I got into one of them years after the show ended, so most of the fic authors had already moved on. I was just chilling in the ghost town with a couple dozen others, bringing awesome fics that were written in the 90s. :) Good times.
