my cat from time to time will creep into the shower and try to drink from it - and when she can't reach the stream she will lick the water off my legs or arms or w/e she can reach. she's a big weirdo.

Cats are funny. My cat will only do running water. She has a fountain now. But she still tries to drink out of sinks if one of us is using one. Or occasionally a toilet that is just flushed, though I can generally catch her when she tries that. She flat out refuses to drink out of bowls, though.

a diva! my cat likes drinking from the sink sometimes too, but it's tiny and broken so she always has to contort to get to it & it looks insanely funny. i love her

Awww. My cat's previous home was outdoors by a river, so I think she got used to the idea of running water=safe. She really likes the fountain I bought for her, though. Honestly the best purchase I've made for her. She even just likes to watch it sometimes.

I really want to get my cats a fountain. They have a bowl in here where the computer room is, but they prefer me to pour some water out on the tile i use as a coaster on my desk and drink the little puddle that forms.

I highly recommend them. I got a relatively inexpensive one. And I've more than gotten my money's worth out of that. Then again, my cat was actually dehydrated at the vets because she outright refused to drink from bowls. we've had the fountain for 6 months and she's completely healthy now.

I've seen a very nice one for not too much that's stainless steel. I *did* have a plastic one years ago, but algae was a huge issue. I think ss would be better.

Yup. The one I have is steel because I was told that would be better. Still not too expensive. Not the super fancy one, but my girl doesn't need super fancy. She loves this one just the way it is. She just watches it sometimes.

Duuuude. My one cat waits outside of the shower EVERY MORNING for me to get out so he can go in and lick the entire bathtub clean of water.

Like... you have the best fountain money can buy, Jake. Why do you need body water??

Awww. Then yes, he probably wants the taste of you on him at all times. :) He's making sure his claim on you remains intact.
